An interdisciplinary newly composed opera directed by Louise Beck, produced by Opera Nord at Copenhagens Opera house in 2019. Dagmar Radmacher interpreted the topic through a variety of stages resulting in drawings, embroideries and a live on stage performance as an integral part of the opera. Objects produced were incorporated into the existing scenography.
Liebestod an Opera:tion examines the medical condition of 'broken heart syndrome' through the lens of Wagner's opera Tristan and Isolde. Science has proved that the dramatic cliche of a broken heart can actually result in a serious medical condition.
