The portraits are the result of a 3 day immersion with the space. Some research was done prior to visiting, but crucially, I approached the 'dialogue' with the building with few preconceptions and arrived through a process of drawing, photography, talking, listening and living at the crochet dolls. Had I not been in the space I would never arrived at these conclusions. Engaging intimately with an environment can have surprising results.
